No more dark corners
Parking Lot Lighting Repair in Gilbert, AZ
A dark parking lot chases customers away and invites trouble in. Cars get broken into where cameras can't see. Somebody trips, and now it's a claim. Lot lighting isn't decoration — it's security, safety, and liability protection on a pole.
AC/DC Electric repairs parking lot and site lighting for businesses across Gilbert, Chandler, Tempe, Mesa, Phoenix, and Scottsdale. Licensed, bonded, and insured — and available 24/7, because lot lighting problems show up at night, and night is when we can actually see what's failing.

Watch for these
Signs your lot is going dark
- An entire row of poles is out at once
- Lights burn all day and waste power
- Fixtures flicker, buzz, or cycle on and off
- One dead pole left a black hole by the entrance
- The breaker feeding the lot keeps tripping
- Tenants and customers complain about dark spots
Why a Whole Row Goes Out at Once
One dead light is usually a lamp, driver, or ballast. A whole row dead means the problem is upstream: a tripped breaker, a failed contactor, a bad photocell, or a cut or corroded underground feed. Underground faults are the ones that stump people — the wire fails somewhere beneath the asphalt and nothing looks wrong on the surface. We trace the circuit, find the failure point, and repair it, instead of guessing and swapping parts.
Day-Burners and Short-Cyclers
Lights running at noon mean a stuck contactor or a failed photocell — and every daylight hour is money out the door. Lights that cycle on and off after dark usually have a failing lamp or driver overheating and shutting itself down. Both problems are quick to diagnose when you work on lot lighting regularly. Both get worse, and more expensive, when they're ignored.

FAQ
Straight answers
Why are all my parking lot lights out at the same time?
Because they share a circuit. Pole lights typically run in groups fed from one breaker through a contactor and photocell. When any link in that chain fails — breaker, contactor, photocell, or the underground wiring between poles — every light downstream goes dark together. We test each link in order and repair the one that failed.
Can you fix underground wiring without tearing up the whole lot?
In most cases, yes. We locate the fault first, then open only the section that needs repair. Sometimes the fix is a splice in an accessible spot; sometimes a stretch of conductor gets replaced. What we don't do is trench blind. Finding the fault before cutting asphalt keeps the repair — and the patch — as small as possible.
My lights run all day. Is that urgent?
It's costing you every hour, so treat it like a leak. A stuck contactor or dead photocell will happily burn electricity around the clock until someone fixes it. The repair is usually quick, and the part is usually cheap compared to weeks of wasted daytime burn. Call it in and stop paying to light up the sun.
Should I switch my pole lights to LED during the repair?
If your heads are older metal halide or high-pressure sodium, it's worth pricing. LED heads use less energy, come back instantly after a power blip, and hold their brightness longer between service calls. Since a lift or ladder trip is already part of the repair, retrofitting at the same time saves you a second visit.
